James Raymond “Ray” Henson, 91, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed from this life on Friday, March 17, 2017 in Booneville. He was born Dec. 25, 1925 in Marionville, Mo., to James Lee and Martha (Lewis) Henson.

He was a retired inspector for the Bureau of Reclamation in California. He served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, serving on board the ship the USS Bell. He was a member of the Washburn Church of Christ, Coalinga Lapidary Society in California, and served as a Boy Scout Leader and a Little League Coach.

He enjoyed woodworking and making jewelry.

He is preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m,. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Church of Christ in Washburn, with burial in French Prairie Cemetery in the Ione community near Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Henson of Booneville; one daughter, Lori Cooper of Somerset, Calif.; one son, Les Henson of Booneville; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Les Henson, James Hester, Don Tramell, Joe Evans, Bill French, John French.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m, Wednesday at Roberts Funeral Home.
