A 32-year old Booneville man has been charged with second degree sexual assault for alleged incidents involving a 9-year old female.

According to an arrest warrant for Jeremy Marcus Ruby, 32, in April the victim told an investigator with the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division and a Department of Children and Family Services case worker that Ruby had placed his hands inside of her panties and rubbed her on numerous occasions.

Ruby, the affidavit states, was living with the child’s mother at the time of the alleged incidents.

An attempt by a Booneville Police Department investigator to contact Ruby two days after the child was interviewed was unsuccessful. Located two days later Ruby declined to speak to investigators without an attorney present, the affidavit states.

Ruby was formally arrested on Aug. 23. He is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.

Because the victim is under 14 yeas old the charge against Ruby is a Class B felony punishable upon conviction by five to 20 years in prison and or a fine of up to $15,000.
