The body of a man believed to be Aaron Bradley DeWitt was found Monday night by coon hunters in the Sugar Grove area according to Logan County Sheriff Steve Smith.

DeWitt, 35, was reported missing on a post on the Logan County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page on Jan. 15. DeWitt had last been seen in the vicinity of the area where the body was located Smith said.

Smith said the body has been turned over to the state medical examiner in hopes of determining both a positive identification — though the sheriff believes, given the circumstances, it is DeWitt — and a cause of death. Smith said it was uncertain when he would hear from the medical examiner.

According to a Facebook post, DeWitt had not been seen then since leaving his home on Jan. 10. Search teams from the Logan, Sebastian and Franklin County sought for DeWitt after he was reported missing.
