Logan County Justice of the Peace Jeanne Andrews of Booneville was elected to serve on the 12-member executive committee of the Arkansas Association of Quorum Courts, Inc. at their regular meeting held in Little Rock last month.
Andrews’ term will be for two years. The election is her second to the executive committee that represents the 782-member AAQC association.
Andrews was elected to the position from 75 member board which is comprised of a single member from each Quorum Court in the state.
The 12-member executive board is then selected with three members coming from each of Arkansas’ four Congressional districts.
Andrews said last week the executive committee generally meets twice per year — in March to discuss legislative issues as kind of a "state of the state" and again in August — but that there may be additional meetings in the future.
Andrews, who last summer sold her Andrews Insurance Agency and retired, is in her seventh term on the Logan County Quorum Court.
The Arkansas Association of Quorum Courts is a statewide voice for all county quorum courts in each of the 75 counties of Arkansas.
