Magazine’s 30th annual city and alumni homecoming is planned for June 7 and 8.

The weekend gets under way with a hamburger dinner, sponsored by First Western Bank set for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday night at the "Gloria Perry" Community Building. Children and adult’s meals will be $2 at the door. Door prizes will be awarded.

The annual homecoming parade will begin at 9 a.m. at the school on Saturday. The theme of the parade and for the 30th annual event is "Carnival".

Prizes will be awarded but entry forms must be filled out before the parade to help with line-up. Forms may be picked up at the Magazine School superintendent’s office, at City Hall or at the County Discount Pharmacy or message Vicky Parrish on Facebook. Saturday after the parade at Hank Stone City Park — the park was named for the former mayor and longtime supporter of the city during last year’s homecoming festivities — there will be live music, children’s games including the annual turtle races, a water slip and slide for kids and teens. Swimsuits must be covered.

Also available will be food and craft booths. Booth spaces are available for a $10 fee without electricity or $15 with electricity.

Attendees are also reminded to remember lawn chairs.

The alumni reception will be held in the "Gloria Perry" Community Building, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The reception will be directed by LeeAnna Chappell Jones.

A CRRA-ACRA-CRA Rodeo will be held at the Chigger Valley Arena on Saturday night, at 8:00 p.m. Admission will be $8 for adults or $5 children under 12-years old. For more information contact David Moore at 969-2020.
