The body of a man was recovered in Johnson County on Sunday night.

Keith Stephens, the chief of communications for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, said the body of Chase Evan Standridge, 22, of Yell County was found in southern Johnson County near Cabin Creek on the Arkansas River around 5:45 p.m. He said it appeared that Standridge was duck hunting.

"From the high winds on Saturday out in the river ... water came over the side and swamped the boat," Stephens said.

Stephens said the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission received a call Saturday afternoon around 3 p.m. that a boater was missing in the Arkansas River. A search was conducted along the bank of the river, which continued until it got dark. The search resumed Sunday morning, and it was the commission's dive team that located Standridge.

"I think the original call came to the county, to Johnson County," Stephens said.
