The U.S. Marshals Museum plans to participate in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25 and Giving Tuesday on Nov. 28. This will be the third consecutive year the museum will partner with the Fort Smith Downtown Business Association for both holidays.
“The community support around the holidays last year was just phenomenal,” said Patrick Weeks, president and CEO of the United States Marshals Museum, in a news release. “Between Small Business Saturday and Giving Tuesday, the Fort Smith community helped us raise over $20,000. This kind of generosity is why we are where we are today — with the preliminary site work completed and construction scheduled to begin in the spring.”
As part of the partnership with the Fort Smith Downtown Business Association, several local businesses have committed to giving a portion of their Small Business Saturday proceeds to the U.S. Marshals Museum. Participating businesses will display signs in their windows and have donation boxes placed near the cash register. Employees at those same businesses will also wear #TheTimeHasCome T-shirts.
For Giving Tuesday, the museum will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its office at 14 N. Third Street, Suite D. The museum will update its social media accounts as gifts are made. Donations can be submitted in person, online or by calling (479) 709-3766.
