Early voting has started.

Magazine voters will pick a new school board member Tuesday.

There are four names on the ballot, but one candidate, Glenn Parrish, has disbanded his campaign and requested voters cast their ballot elsewhere.

Remaining candidates are Brent Haney, Brandy Moore and Michael Springer. All are graduates of J.D. Leftwich High School in Magazine.

The candidates are seeking to replace Manfred Phillips, who is leaving the board after a decade of service.

Early voting for the election began Tuesday in the Logan County Clerk’s offices in the Booneville and Paris courthouses. Early voting will continue during normal business hours through Monday, Sept. 18.

All voting on election day will be conducted at the polls, at the Gloria Perry Community Center in Magazine.

As it has no contested races, voting in Booneville only early voting will be held for the election. Bobby Haynes is running unopposed to retain Position 3 on the Booneville board.
