The 14th Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will be held at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center tomorrow on the National Day of Prayer.

The theme for the breakfast is the same for the National Day of Prayer: For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear Us. Forgive us. Heal us! The National Organizers chose Daniel 9:19 as the scripture this year: “O Lord, hear. O Lord, forgive. O Lord, listen and act! For your own sake, do not delay, O my God, for your people and your city bear your name.”

The breakfast starts at 6:30 a.m. followed by a short program at 7 which includes prayer for areas of concern for the citizens of Booneville. The breakfast will be over at 7:45 a.m.

The program will include some new clergy members from area worshipping communities: Rev. Eric Green from First Baptist Church and Father Alejandro Puello from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. The entertainment portion will also include new faces: Covenant Family Worship Center’s Youth Praise Band will perform 2 songs. Lexi Danekas, a member of First Western’s Youth Advisory Board will sing one song.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10.00. The Breakfast is organized by the employees of First Western Bank is one of the main fundraisers for the Boys and Girls Club of South Logan County. Over $2,000 has already been raised this year through table reservations from area businesses.

There is also going to be a prayer observance at noon at the Logan County Courthouse in Booneville.
