Governor Asa Hutchinson has appointed a Booneville man to the State Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board.
William “David” Remy was appointed to the board to replace Pete Strozier, whose term expired. Remy’s appointment is effective through Jan. 14, 2021.
The co-owner of Arkansas Liquefied Gas in Booneville, Remy is the second Booneville man to serve on the board. His brother, Gene Remy served on the board until he was term limited, Remy said last week.
As a member of the board, Remy said, “We approve applications for areas of operations throughout the state. We basically make sure the operation of the installation of tanks is performed safely throughout the state.”
Remy should know. Arkansas Liquefied Gas has been in his family since the 1940s. The office located at 242 East First Street, employs five people.
