It didn’t sell out, but like the insurance company advertisements of old, Booneville Development Corporation/South Logan County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Susan Featherston thinks residents will be a lot happier since the organization switched the Independence Day fireworks show to July 4.
In an effort to help cover costs associated with moving and enlarging the Chamber and city sponsored annual Independence Day fireworks show back to July 4, the Booneville Development Corporation/Chamber held a fundraiser dinner show on Valentines Day with New York City-based comedian Jason Salmon.
“We did well,” Featherston said. “We were able to make up the difference for the fireworks show and everybody raved over the food.”
Besides stand-up, Salomon has appeared on the small screen in Orange is the New Black and 30 Rock, and in multiple commercials, including Toyota 4Runner: Snakebite and GEICO: Happier than a Witch in a Broom Factory.
According to IMDb, Salmon “is an actor and producer, known for Happy Ending (2005), The Eye Is a Thief (2003) and The Writer (2006).”
The Valentine’s Day event was held at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center.
