LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas cheese dip bested Texas queso in a blind taste taste held by senators from the two states Wednesday.

The office of Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., said the taste test was held to resolve a friendly dispute that began on Twitter between Sens. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., and John Cornyn, R-Texas. Cotton, Cornyn and Sens. John Boozman, R-Ark., and Ted Cruz, R-Texas, took part in the test.

Arkansas cheese dip was provided by current World Cheese Dip Professional Division Champion Heights Taco & Tamale of Little Rock. Texas queso was provided by Uncle Julio’s of Dallas.

“We’re happy our colleagues validated what we’ve known all along: Arkansas cheese dip is the best in the United States, and the world,” Cotton said in a statement. “Thank you to Heights Taco & Tamale for coming to Washington and providing the United States Senate with a little taste of Arkansas. Senator Cruz and Senator Cornyn: you’re welcome to cross the state line for some real cheese dip anytime.”
