LITTLE ROCK — A Forrest City man cashed in a scratch-off lottery ticket Monday for a $1 million prize, Arkansas lottery officials said.

William Tinzie won the $1 million — before taxes — prize with a $1,000,000 Golden Ticket card he bought at Jordan’s Kwik Stop in Wynne for $20. The game offers four $1 million prizes, three of which have now been claimed.

All state lottery proceeds, after prizes and expenses, go to fund in-state college scholarships for Arkansas students. Since the lottery launched in 2009, it has provided more than $600 million for college scholarships, $2 billion in prizes to players and $170 million in commissions to lottery retailers.
