The theme of the this year’s summer reading program at the Booneville Library is “Libraries Rock.” There will be several events related to the theme throughout the moth of June.

Performances and entertainment include The Kinders at 3:30 p.m., on Friday, June 1, at the kickoff party, which also features a water slide and bounce-arounds.

Aaron Acosta’s magic show is set for 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11. Singer/songwriter Ricky Pitman will be at the library at 2 p.m. on June 14. Cowboy Marshall Mitchell will be in the house on Friday, June 22 at 3 p.m.

Still other events are “The Singing Snake” at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 4, singer/songwriter Jimmy Dodson meet and greet at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 15 and a dulcimer group “Mountain Steam” at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 18.

The program wraps up with a party at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 29.

Additionally, children from kindergarten through sixth grade will be also challenged with reading goals that, if met, will include a prize.
