Mr. and Mrs. Jack (Jay) Lasey of Fort Smith will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.

They were married March 6, 1948.

Mrs. Lasey, the former Margrett Hargrove of Mulberry, is a homemaker and worked at J.C. Penney.

Mr. Lasey, also formerly of Mulberry, is retired from Swift's Meat Co. in Fort Smith.

The couple have two children, Jack Lasey and wife Sandy of Fayetteville and Janet Bassham and husband David of Greenwood.

They also have four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

This couple's faith in God and in each other has allowed them to be a foundation for their immediate family to gain strength from and build on. It has also allowed them to have a strong, loving relationship with their church family at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fort Smith. Thus far, they have lived a blessed life, and as "young at heart" as they are, there are many, many blessed years ahead of them.
