"High-octane" rock music from acclaimed veteran players is about to blast along Garrison Avenue, said one official.
Black Star Riders, which includes Thin Lizzy members Scott Gorham, Marco Mendoza, Ricky Warwick and Damon Johnson, will perform rock and other styles at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Neumeier’s Rib Room & Beer Garden, 817 Garrison Ave.
Also featuring former Megadeth drummer Jimmy DeGrasso, the band is touring to promote its new CD, "All Hell Breaks Loose," with many of those songs and Thin Lizzy tracks to be played at the Fort Smith show, said Bill Neumeier, the venue’s owner.
"I’m really looking forward to having Black Star Riders come play our venue," he said. "I’m a big Thin Lizzy fan, so it’s exciting to have these guys play in Fort Smith. I know other people will be excited about this concert, too."
Neumeier predicted a large, appreciative crowd at Monday’s concert. He also guessed that Thin Lizzy’s FM staple, "The Boys are Back in Town," as well as new cuts like "Bound for Glory" and "Hey Judas," will be heard in the energetic set list.
"This band isn’t doing a whole lot of U.S. concert dates this year — they’re going to play in Japan later before recording their second album with Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott as producer," Neumeier said. "We thankfully made the short list of places they are playing."
Both musicians and casual rock listeners will be impressed with Black Star Riders’ set list at the Rib Room, he said.
"It will be such a big thrill to see them here, up close and personal," Neumeier said. "It’s going to be a great evening with a great band. People definitely don’t want to miss Black Star Riders here in our town."
