Here are a few of the things going on in the South Logan County or surrounding area in the coming days.
The annual Glow for Boux, in memory of Boux Anderson, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 4 to 9 p.m.
Admission is free and concessions will be available. There will be games and booths for kids and live music from 4:30 until 8 with Wildfire and Square One playing. At dusk there will be a candle/balloon release.
The event is a fundraiser for St. Jude’s Hospital.
Bowl A Game, Or Two
National Bowling Day is coming up Saturday, Aug. 12. The closest lanes, according to Google, are Sherwood Lanes in Clarksville and Midland Bowl or Bowling World in Fort Smith.
Additionally, in light of the holiday, Bowlmor AMF, the nation’s largest operator of bowling centers, is launching the first-ever bowling emoji app, in celebration of National Bowling Day. Anyone who downloads the app will receive a free game of bowling at any of their over 300 centers nationwide, but the closest to South Logan County is Sheridan Lanes in Tulsa, Okla.
The Fort Smith Boys Shelter’s car show and silent auction will be held at the Fort Smith Pavilion from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 12. Admission is free. There will be a best in show, best rat rod and top 50 awards.

Mark Wills will be playing a free concert at Lee’s Tavern at the Cherokee Casino and Hotel in Roland, Okla., on Aug. 12. The show is set for 9 p.m. to midnight. The casino is located at 109 Cherokee Boulevard in Roland.
