CHiPS — Dax Shepherd directs and stars in this humurous, big-screen version of the popular TV show about two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers, their rocky friendship and the danger they encounter. Ghost in the Shell — Major (Scarlett Johansson) is a one-of-a-kind individual in director Rupert Sanders' new thriller. Major was saved from a terrible accident and cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier to battle the world's most brutal criminals. Going in Style — This remake of the George Burns/Art Carney comedy centers around three lifelong friends who feel desperate enough that they want to rob the bank that took their money. The white-haired trio thinks their plan will help regain their dignity and please their loved ones. Stars Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Alan Arkin, Ann-Margret, Joey King, Christopher Lloyd, Matt Dillon, Kenan Thompson and Maria Dizzia. (PG-13)

John Wick 2: Chapter 2 — John Wick returns to the underworld to repay a debt, but instead, he finds trouble. Stars Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Riccardo Scamarcio and Laurence Fishburne. (R) 

Kong: Skull Island — A group of soldiers and explorers travel to a mysterious Pacific island, but the ensemble is unaware that the mythic Kong and other large monsters await in director Jordan Vogt-Roberts' new film. Stars Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson and John C. Reilly. (PG-13)

Life — Director Daniel Espinosa's new, tense film stars Rebecca Ferguson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds and Naoko Mori. An international space crew searches for life on Mars, and what the team finds is shocking and dangerous. Co-stars Camiel Warren-Taylor, Hiroyuki Sanada, Olga Dihovichnaya and Alexandre Nguyen. (R)

Logan — "X-Men" character Wolverine (Hugh Jacksman) tries to help an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) while in a hidden location in director James Mangold's near-future story. (R) 

Power Rangers — Dacre Montgomery, Elizabeth Banks, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G., Bill Hader and Bryan Cranston star in this action-style film about how a team of high school students pool their abilities to try and save the world. The Shack — Director Stuart Hazeldine's new film showcases a man who is suffering in life. The man is surprised when he receives a personal invitation to meet God. Smurfs: The Lost Village — Director Kelly Asbury's new animated adventure finds the Smurfs relying on a mysterious map to discover just what is inside the Forbidden Forest. The Smurfs think they could be about to discover life's biggest secret yet. The Zookeeper's Wife — This new film focuses on Antonina and Jan Zabinski, the keepers of the Warsaw Zoo who decide to help others.
